The final, proposed version of the Syracuse Real Food Co-op are here! You can read them here.
After the August Owner Forum, the board of directors voted to make two significant changes: (1) keep two meetings per year, and (2) include the seven cooperative principles in the bylaws.
Voting begins November 5 on this draft. Please post any questions or comments regarding this final draft.

I don’t understand how this is a “forum,” which is a place for free public debate and discussion. We had forums on the old website, but they’ve disappeared. I would really appreciate a spot where the format is not “The Board Talks and We Listen” but instead “We Talk Amongst Ourselves.” Healthy democracies need spots for open discussion and should not be afraid of a good debate.

Jesse,
I will bring this up at the next board meeting and find out why it was taken off the web site. and get back to this forum with what I find out. Do you not feel that this forum is a good enough replacement?

Jesse,
I just answered my own question. I got a message that says my message is awaiting moderation. Is that what bothers you? Has anything you have said been moderated out?

Jesse, I absolutely agree with your last statement! This is why the coop had several owner forums this year and conducted a survey of the coop shoppers (members and paying visitors). This spot, too, is for healthy debate. Glad to see that you came on the coop’s forum and exercised your ownership rights!
